five friday favs...

1. My family has taken a liking to hiking. We live in this wonderful area to take full advantage of it! The kids love the fresh air, and it's a great place for Justin and I to just breath and not have to think about anything in the world, but enjoying each other and the kiddos. Last weekend was a trip to Mullikan Trail Head

2. With this nice weather we have been having we lit up the fire pit! We ended a couple nights now with smores! The kids love the marshmallows, or should I say they love all three ingredients but all separate. :)

3. This week kicked off my BIGGEST LOSER CHALLENGE! I decided to put this together to help myself and other girls around me. I have had 12 girls sign up and we all put in $20 bucks and at the end (Aug 31) who ever has the highest percentage lost wins all the money!

4. Summer dresses... What would I do with out them, I love them by them selves or with a pair of jeans.

5. Craigslist! I have sold a ton of stuff this week on it! It's really a hit or miss thing, but I guess this week was my week to make a little moola!

the beginning of summer!

One of the many reasons I love summer in Bend! We seem to kick it off every year with the Balloons Over Bend. It's an early early morning, getting the kids up at5 and leaving the house by 5:30 for set up at 6 and launch at 6:30. But it is so worth getting up that early and even for the kids, they enjoy being right now there close enough to touch it all if they want. This year was beautiful! Sun was shining and clear blue sky's! After watching them go up up and away we headed to breakfast. A great way to start the summer off.

Cupcakes!

I have been on a mission, to make my very own cupcakes w/frosting from scratch! I have gone through I think 5 recipes, now and all have ended up in the garbage! Not that they weren't eatable, they just weren't perfect!. Actually the problem I'm having the most with is the frosting. I just can't find a home made frosting that I like! Today I did make a cream cheese frosting and it turned out pretty good. I can't say they are perfect BUT these ones were at least worth decorating and eating!!

It's the little things...

My friend post her "five favorites for Friday" every week and I love reading them! So I have decided to steal her idea and start my own fav Friday lists. :) Thanks MJ!

It really is just the little tiniest things that please me through out the week! (that's either really sad or really good. lol)
1. My coffee in the morning. I look forward to it every morning! I truly don't know what I would do with out it.

2. A fresh new set of nails! And in light of the walk I am doing on Sunday for Breast Cancer, I'm rockin some bright pink!


3. Watching the new puppers torment the kids... haha might be evil but I really do enjoy watching her chase them around and them run from her and jump on the highest piece of furniture near them! haha

4. Having family live so close to me. It's a wonderful feeling just knowing my brother and sister are only 20 mins away.


5. With all this rain, yesterday and today we have finally saw some glimmers of sun! makes think that maybe JUST MAYBE our summer weather is on it's way? I can hope right?
