A perfect little day

Woke up and had a pretty good morning with my little Averee, snuggling on the couch watch some cartoons, while the boys decided it was a good day to sleep in. Great way to start the morning. Then I got a text from my friend Katie, wanting to go hike Smith Rock. We had talked about it the night before, and it was something I really wanted to do. I'm feeling like I'm in better shape and am enjoying challenging myself with difficult "accomplishments" shall we say. So my brother, Katie and I drove out there late morning to start the adventure. The kiddos stayed home with Justin. They love going hiking out there, but this time I was going out there to get in a good workout not to just dink around. Oddly enough as we are walking down one of the little paths I ran in to an old friend and her family from High School, strange place to see you, but it was great seeing you Jessica!! Then it was off for the hike up "Misery Trail" this should tell you a little something about the trail, it took us 2 hours to do 4 miles!!! I honestly thought I was going to die going up the trail, but it was so worth it when I finally made it! And what an accomplishment it was! But I will say going down seemed to be just as challenging as going up! it was straight down pretty much, on a dirt trail. I had a few times that I slipped and I thought it was going to turn in to a domino's affect and just take everyone out with me! haha. Right when you make it around the loop at the top you start going down and you come across "Monkeys Face" pretty cool to see it and then see Rock Climbers dangling in his mouth! I love Smith Rock and think this torture of a hike may become a weekly adventure to work in to my workout schedule!
We got home and as soon I stepped foot in the door my sister called to see if I wanted to go to a movie. It started in 35 mins and it takes me 30 to get to the theater! But I wasn't going to miss going, so I did a little clean up on myself and grabbed a slimfast out of the fridge and was off. We saw "Letter's To Juliet" Such a great chick flick!! Absolutely adored the movie!
Then I came home made dinner, and ended my day with a little family walk around the neighborhood.

It was a perfect little "mommy" day.

takin us back.

having a little little puppy sure is taking Justin and I back to the day we had newborns! not so much the fact that she sleeps most of the day and then has her brief play times. But we had a great system when both kids were babies, and it seems to be coming back in to effect. :) Before we had kids Justin worked grave yard for many years, your body never really goes back to a normal sleeping schedule or at least his hasn't. So when we had kids it was great I would go to bed at normal time and he would take the night shift cause it was a good night if he was in bed before 1, then I would wake up early in the morning and really wouldn't have to get up much in the middle of the night. Well same goes with Miss Lucy! I go to bed she has her awake/play time with daddy and he puts her out to potty and crates her and we don't hear a peep from her until around 7 when I get up. This is working out way better then I thought it was going to! ;)

Meet Lucy!!

after some long talks and long searching, we decided it was time to add to our family! We decided to get another dog. Ryder is at the right age to start helping with taking care of the animals, Averee is showing lots of interest in it also, and with me turning or should I say attempting to become a runner I was in need of a running partner. My poor old man JJ can barely make it around the block now with out his back legs giving out. We went on the search for a puppers that was half lab and half some thing with short hair. Ryder has been on a kick for MONTHS now of wanting a boxer, so ideally I wanted to find a boxer/lab mix. And that is what we found!! She is so precious and fitting in wonderfully!! We have started crate training her since the night we got her (Thursday), I want her to be comfortable in there for when we have to leave her at home and at night, so far she loves her crate AND has only had 3 accidents in the house so far! I think that's pretty good considering she is only 6 weeks!!

This is Lucille (aka Lucy)
and yes her name came from a Kenny Rogers song.. haha. Ryder for some reason fell in love with Lucille (the name) after Justin gave his top 3 picks. I was great with it cause I wanted Lucy, so I figured I could shorten it and everyone would be happy. :)
Took her to the vet today for her shots and a checkup and she is weighing in at a whopping 5.1lbs right now.

A day for me...

Another Mothers Day under my belt. :) I feel like they come and go so fast, another year has really gone by already? My babies are growing so fast!
My day started with a cup or few ;) cups of coffee, lounging on the couch in my p.j's all morning watching girly movies, while the hubby did what ever, and the kiddos played outside in the sun. It really did start out wonderful! then.... the she-devil came!! My daughter turned it to a winy, cranky, cry and throw a fit over everything little brat!! This in turn, turned my day upside down. We had plans on going to my sisters to have dinner and let the 2 mamas escape and do a little Mothers Day shopping. When we got in the car to go, I really didn't know if the day was going to go as planned or if we would be cutting our stay short and heading home? By the time we got there, she had calmed down a little and my true little "hunter" came out in her. LITERLY!!! My sisters new house is surrounded with sage rats and they are a huge nuisance do to all the holes in the horse pasture, so the kids get their guns and head out to the field. Ryder had already been out a few times and is a pretty good little hunter, BUT MY BABY GIRL!! I have always knew she is going to want to hunt with her daddy, cause you can just see it in her, but as we were walking out to the field with my sister, she is repeating OVER AND OVER "me shoot" "me shoot"! At this point I passed her on to daddy and I left to go do a little GIRLY shopping. Me and hunting don't mix!!! lol
So our day went on to free lunch at one of our favorite little Hawaiian places (thank you to the sweet sweet owner!), then shopping for treasures to redo my bedroom! This is what I have done so far! I am in love with it!!

After shopping I headed home (the fam had already left to go home) when I got here I had dinner waiting and a great "ME" gift. It was some delish smelling candles, a new coffee mug, and the most wonderful cook book I have got so far!! You have to check it out!

I was super thrilled with my present, cause I wasn't expecting anything! Redoing my room was supposed to be my present!! I can't explain how much I LOVE MY LITTLE FAMILY!!
Thank you so much for being so wonderful to me!!

yawn... Where have the last 5 days gone?

I think the last week has been a complete blur! It started last week when we got back on Monday from the valley and then I feel like it was non stop and today I'm finally sitting here thinking and trying to figure out what all has been going on. So let me see if I can catch you up on our busy little lives. :)

Last Thursday was Ryder's last day of Kung Fu, he passed his "test" and is now an official Blue Dragon (this was just a little class through park and rec, but he is telling everyone he is a blue dragon now) it was adorable and he did an amazing job! That boy loves martial arts and his teacher gave me the number to an actual Martial Arts studio so I can continue him in it and help him progress. That makes me so proud of my little man! Considering he was the littlest in the class and yet he came out on top! just a little mama bragging ;) OK so after Thursday it was time to get in to moving mode... My sister was moving and my brother was moving to bend over the weekend and we had family coming over to help. It was a crazy few days. We got stuff going Saturday morning after Kaitlyn's soccer game. My sister (if you don't know) has a family of 6, and farm consisting of chickens, horses, dogs, goats, and we can't forget the lizards.. Plus they own a plumbing business and their shop is located at there house in the barn. So needless to say we had a TON of stuff to move! Sadly we only got the animals and the house moved in the last 3 days. haha... Her new house is beautiful and fits their family so perfectly! I think they are going to love it there!! My brother also moved this last weekend. His was an easy no biggie job, just him and Katie moving their little house to an ADORABLE apartment in Bend. They live with in minutes of down town and Old Mill, oh and like 2 minutes away from my sister! She is living on 10 acres but it's right on the edge of town and with in minutes to everywhere! I'm feeling a little like the out cast all the way over in Redmond now! But hopefully that will change with in the next year at the most!! Even Justin was talking about making the short move to Bend last night. I'm coming, I'm coming!!! Yesterday was a day of helping my sister unpack and try and get some sort of organization going from room to room. Then we ended the night with all of us (my sister's family, my family, Derek and Katie) BBQing, laughing and loving that we all live close again! Today is a little rest day, or should I say no rest for me just focusing on my own house, maybe doing a little yard work, and shopping for a new bed and TV today! Sounds like a pretty good day to me.

A quick update on Averee's ears..
Yesterday I took her in to a chiropractor to see if she needed to be adjusted at all. Hoping that would be the case and he could get the flow going again behind her ears, and it would ultimately help or take the ear infections away. Well this back fired... The doctor was so sorry for not being able to help me but super impressed that she was all in alignment, nothing even a little out! He said that rarely happens, especially in children. So that was good, BUT she has another cold and has been pulling at her ear all morning and I'm pretty sure she has YET ANOTHER EAR INFECTION! we have decided to hold off for the summer if we can and we will do tubes come fall. No fun...

on a different note even with all the craziness going on in the last week, my daughter has decided it was time for her to not wear diapers any longer and is about 90% potty trained! She has done this all by herself, she tells anyone that is close to her when she has to go or I will find her in the bathroom all alone and she has gone and is ready to be wiped. Thank you lord for making potty training easy for at least one of my kids!!!
