My families Christmas

Last weekend my mom and step dad came over for a little family Christmas. It was great to have them over here, I can't even tell you how much I miss my mom and I know I only live 3 hours away! But usually we go a couple few months with out seeing each other. We have been so lucky the last 3 months or so and we have got to see her almost every other weekend! They came and we spent the entire weekend in Christmas holiday cheer mode. We made ginger bread houses, went to the reindeer farm (super cool, if you are ever over here go see it!) had yummy food and lots of laughter.

Ryder got a new real acoustic guitar and was super stoked! He was yelling "yes now I can be a rock star just like uncle Derek!!" lol.. That's my boy, all he wants to be when he grows up is a rock star. He tells us this just about every other day!

Averee got a bunch of baby stuff and a couple new babies. As you can see she is smoochin on this one and hasn't put it down since the night she opened it. She even slept with all three new ones in bed with her and they all had to be covered up. :)

the super cute reindeer.

My little elf

Can you tell who my monkey is out of my two kids? :)

And our little elf doggie.

Christmas 09

Awww.. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse! HA!!!! And then there was my Ryder! He was so excited he couldn't stand it! Christmas eve came with a not so patient little boy asking every day just about every hour "is Santa coming tonight?" He would wake up every morning and come in and get about 2 inches from my face and ask "did he come?" Yes this is what we went through every morning for the ENTIRE week! I won't complain cause I truly loved it. It just makes me think of how special and exciting Christmas is when your a child.

Christmas Eve was a long one for Ry, so we decided to try and keep him busy and tire him out for the night so he would go right to sleep and not get up a million times waiting for Santa, cause earlier that day he had already informed me that he was sleeping on the couch that night so he could see Santa. :) Anyways after nap time we headed out to Home Depot and then off to the park, it was cold here but still sunny, the kids had a blast and Averee really got in to it all and criiiieeed when we had to leave. After the park we came home made cookies for Santa. Dinner came and went and the kids were a little restless so we loaded them up and the dog and headed out to the Eagle Crest lights and then drove around looking at all the fun lights people have decorated this season with. By the time we got home both kids were out! With them in bed and sound asleep it was time for mommy and daddy's night to only begin....

I hadn't even wrapped anything, so we had a ton of work ahead of us. Nothing a little rum and cokes and good tv (ghost hunters) can't help with. ;) I wrapped and Justin had the job of putting together Averee's new kitchen. IT TOOK HIM 2 HOURS TO PUT IT TOGETHER!! lol.. I was the mean wife and just kept making fun of him for it taking so long. But it all ended well and we got everything done and off to bed we went.

Averee was the first one up the next morning. I got up with her and the minute we got out in the living room she spotted her kitchen, behind all the other presents and bolted to it! She did not care that there was anything else around her. It was one of those priceless moments.

Here all week Ryder was up early and then Christmas morning actually comes and after me and Averee being up for almost an hour we decided it was time for big brother to get up. All I had to do was wake him up enough to tell him Santa came and he was up and at em running to the living room. As you can tell he was a little in aww when he got out there.

After sitting here for a few seconds it didn't take long for him to get right in to it. And same with his sister actually. Ryder had his priceless moment too. It didn't take him long to open up his new Devastator, not the 90 dollar model but the step down. It's still big just not as complicated as the other so actually this one worked way better for him. Although he did just tell me he wants the "bigger" one for his birthday. Man can't I get a brake? He's only 4!!! ;)

Over all we all had a wonderful Christmas even considering Averee wasn't feeling very well she still pulled through and enjoyed the day as much as every one else! It was very relaxing and just a day filled with new toys, candy land and putting dinosaur puzzles together. I will defiantly chalk this one up to yet another wonderful wonderful successful holiday!

this is by far daddy's most favorite picture. haha.. He is so proud that she is becoming just as much a little hunter as her brother! (Not by my choice)

One more little story I have to share.
As we were in the car heading out to the lights there was a flashing light in the sky, it was just a plane but when Ryder saw it, in a total shocked overly excited voice from the back seat he said " look what's that in the sky?! both Justin and I said oh it's probably just a plain, and then it was quiet for a minute and he goes NO MOM I THINK IT'S SANTA AND HIS REINDEER!!!" He was overly ecstatic and it was so freakin cute!! Justin and I looked and each other and chuckled under our breath. I love that little man so much, he brings some thing new every day!

Ryder's Christmas Program

My little Ry guy and his Christmas program. It's nothing long but super cute! OH and the fact that I had to do it length way cause of a ladies big head that was in my way!! So sorry for the inconvenience but you have to tilt your head to watch it. (I couldn't figure out how to rotate the video!)

Santa time

This weekend started off with Mommy ready to run and hide all weekend! It was just one of those days come Saturday morning... Both kids woke up ready to take mommy down and not let up for days to come. Unfortunately the day never got better. I felt like I could start crying on the drop of a dime, that is how much they were driving me crazy. Averee has decided the last 3 days she isn't going to take a nap, no matter how long I let her cry/kick her wall. This leaves her to be a pretty happy camper until dinner time rolls around and she's ready to go to bed. Well mommy does NOT let that happen, so it turns in to a fight until one of us gives (usually she gives before I do, cause brother is playing with some thing fun that she wants) If I can keep her awake until 7 I'm thrilled. That was how both days went this weekend. Ryder has been cranky king pants too! What is going on with my kids! Shockingly they aren't sick or getting sick (I don't think) I think it's just one of those weekends? You ever have one of these?
Finally today, we got up this morning made a yummy breakfast and then headed out and about. We went to Home Depot for some paint swatches and Santa was there with free photos. Ryder braved going up and sitting on his lap and proceeded to tell him the same thing he told Santa 2 weeks ago. All he wants is THE DEVISTATOR. If you don't know what this is, it's a huge transformer that turns in to 6 different little transformers. Well I hope he isn't to devastated come Christmas morning with he isn't under the Christmas tree! The sucker cost's $90.00!!!

On the up side of the weekend, we finally got our tree and got it up and decorated. The kids had some much fun with that part of the weekend! Justin finally got the rest of the lights up outside so our house looks beautiful! And we got some snow to play in.

A new vision!

I'm way excited, I can barely keep all the excitement in!! If any of you have been to my house you know I try, but just about everything in my house was handed down to us. Yes it's sad but it's just one of those things that we put on the back burner and just be happy with what we have. Well this year my mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told her some couch covers. I have a green (a dark teal) leather couch and love seat. Now don't get me wrong I actually LOVE my green couches! I'm a little weird in my decorating so they totally fit me. They are starting to look really old so I thought it was time for a little pick me up for them.

THE VISION
I'm repainting my living room and dining room a light tan, and we are getting Chocolate brown suede couch covers, and I'm redoing my tables, tv stand, and shelving in a green stain color with a washed out look (does that make since?) I'm so excited about this change!! My house so needs this! I will be accenting with a burnt orange, and light pea green? Or that is what I'm kinda thinking with a cream color no white.

I will post pictures when the transition is complete! I really wanted to start the refinishing of the wood stuff this week but with our negative degree weather it's really not the time to paint. Looks like I may start with the painting of the walls!
